Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas that can be acute or chronic
(1). Acute pancreatitis may resolve with no lasting side-effects, while chronic pancreatitis is an irreversible condition where ongoing damage to the pancreas results in permanent stricturing of the pancreatic ducts and fibrosis (
